Artist Statement
Elijah Revell is a multidisciplinary artist deeply influenced by his ancestors and a profound connection to the natural environment. Working across mediums such as wood, bone, clay, and stone, he places particular emphasis on specializing in Taonga puoro, traditional Māori musical instruments.
Elijah is dedicated to honoring the mastery of those who came before, aiming to elevate their work further and establish a clear path for future generations.
His active involvement in the Aotearoa arts scene includes participation in diverse events such as live sculpture demonstrations, performance art, auctions, group exhibitions, and music festivals. Notably, he was also responsible for setting up over 50 exhibitions during his tenure at the Whangārei Art Museum.
